The Ritz-Carlton的門口非常低調，穿越小徑後又讓人豁然開朗：利用日式燈籠、石頭及楓葉、櫻花、竹子打造出日式庭園的氛圍，讓旅人先洗淨疲憊的心靈。進入室內後，特別的是前台的服務人員會引領入內。

Lobby極為低調，典雅的和風木造屏風設計，淺色布做沙發配襯深紫色的地氈，再加上一盞水晶燈，燈光配合得舒適自然。竹子牆面與傳統紙燈的設計，呼應著京都的禪風，整體呈現出沉穩的暖色調，令人備覺舒適。

外觀呈現出日式簡約風釆，即便只有五層樓的高度，內部也不失其優雅時尚。

酒店整體和室內設計師從京都明治時期的宅邸和院落中汲取靈感，將其美學特徵運用到酒店的建築和裝飾中。

室內設計分別由來自美國加州的設計師Peter Remedios和日本東京的設計公司Spin Studios負責，其中裝飾圖案是與京都藝術家們合作創作的，糅合了天龍寺的設計特色以及水的元素，在酒店的中心，精心打造了一座四層高的瀑布。

在酒店的豪華客房和套房裡，大片的落地窗設計，讓客人隨時能欣賞到鴨川河景致和遠處東山山脈。

以豪華客房為例，整體格局為長方形，從床的方向往門口望去，三分之一為走道，另三分之二為衛浴間和衣櫃間。

大張的沙發椅可坐也可躺，有數個枕頭相伴，在此可享用飯店精心準備的陶製茶組、品飲日式煎茶；或著也可以坐在臨窗的圓桌前，打開窗簾，欣賞湍流的鴨川，白天夜晚，各有不同景致情趣。

特別值得推崇的是King size的大床柔軟好睡，600織紗床單和羽絨墊，舒適地讓人一夜好眠。

入夜之後從房間內眺望鴨川，更能體會到京都不同於一般的樣貌，

鴨川套房和其他套房均設計有月見台（Tsukimidai，日式園林中常見的木平臺）和全落地窗，體會美不勝收的美景。特別是TSUKIMI套房的設計不同於其他房間，站在戶外陽台之上盡賞京都的河岸風光及東山全景。

衛浴設備有令人放鬆的豪華浴缸、花灑淋浴設施、陶製的雙人洗臉盆，裝備品的特製漆藝盒，都是京都專有的特色。

除了Ritz-Carlton專用備品Asprey 京都Shabon-ya”香皂和季節性浴鹽，則是細節的展現。

麗思卡爾頓水療館棲居在室內瀑布下，一共7間靜謐的水療室，並連結極有意境的室內溫水泳池。

DESIGN

The resort’s design concept is based on five key words and feelings: Utage (Festive), Seido (serenity and movement), Miyabi (elegance), Hana (splendid) and Nagomi (harmony).

The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto makes use of a design that is in harmony with the historical neighborhood’s environment, while achieving a fusion of traditional and contemporary Japanese style sought to retain the character and aesthetic of a traditional Meiji house and courtyard into the architectural structure of the building to reflect the ancient culture of the city. Interiors created by Peter Remedios Design Studio pay homage to the traditions of Japan, with patterned motifs created by local artisans and the incorporation of Zen gardens and water features, including a three-story waterfall positioned in the heart of the property.

Mizuki, La Locanda and The Bar were designed by Design Studio SPIN infusing exceptional craftsmanship with traditional Japanese influences into modern spaces.

ART

The theme of the property’s extensive art collection is “The Tale of Genji,” the classic novel written by Murasaki Shikibu in the 11th century. In the public areas, the design attempts to recreate the atmosphere of the residence of Genji Hikaru, the protagonist of the story. 80 artists, mainly Kyoto’s local artists, have created a total of 409 works interpreting the delicate, graceful sentiment of Genji’s time for the contemporary world.
